Alloy steel forged fittings are normally fabricated using chromium-molybdenum steel grades like F1, F5, F9, F11, F22, and F91. These alloys provide outstanding mechanical properties, such as tensile strengths between 415 and more than 690 MPa and yield strengths up to 450 MPa, varying with grade. The inclusion of elements like chromium increases oxidation and corrosion resistance, and molybdenum is added to increase high-temperature strength and creep resistance. They are heat-treated by quenching and tempering and maintain strength and ductility under severe service conditions.
