Stainless Steel 304 Pipe Fittings consist of chromium (18–20%) and nickel (8–10.5%), along with small amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, and iron as the base component. This austenitic stainless steel offers a wonderful strength vs. corrosion resistance balance. SS 304 possesses around 515 MPa of tensile strength, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and elongation of around 40%. It is very tough even at cryogenic temperatures. All these mechanical properties coupled with good machinability and weldability make SS 304 the perfect selection for all sorts of general-purpose industrial uses.
