Stainless Steel 317 Pipe Fittings consist of chromium (18–20%), nickel (11–15%), molybdenum (3–4%), and trace amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, and iron. The higher molybdenum content increases pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. Mechanically, SS 317 has a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of around 35%. The alloy balances strength with superior corrosion resistance and good formability. It functions well under conditions with aggressive chemicals and high temperatures and is thus suitable for demanding industrial applications that need durability and chemical resistance.
