Inconel 601 is roughly 58–63% nickel, 21–25% chromium, and 1–1.7% aluminum, with the balance essentially iron. This ratio provides the alloy outstanding resistance to high-temperature oxidation and carburization. It has a tensile strength of approximately 650–750 MPa, yield strength of about 300 MPa, and elongation between 30–45%. Inconel 601 has its mechanical properties and surface stability maintained up to 1200°C (2200°F), and it is extremely favorable for extended exposure to heat and reactive atmospheres.
