The Hastelloy alloys consist mainly of nickel with appreciable additions of molybdenum, chromium, iron, and cobalt, depending on the grade. These constituents lend good tensile strength (usually 690–785 MPa), yield strength over 280 MPa, and superior elongation (often well over 40%). The alloy has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, even at hot, extremely corrosive, or oxidizing conditions.
