Stainless Steel 321 Pipe Fittings consist mainly of chromium (17–19%), nickel (9–12%), and titanium (min. five times the carbon content), and iron and trace elements. The presence of titanium stabilizes the material against the formation of chromium carbide and is thus suitable for high-temperature use. SS 321 has a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of about 40%. These fittings are extremely strong mechanically, resistant to high temperatures, and have good oxidation resistance. SS 321 is most suitable for use where prolonged exposure to higher temperatures can cause sensitization in the unstabilized grades.
