Stainless steel 348H is a niobium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy with 17–20% chromium and 8–12% nickel along with a greater carbon level up to 0.10% for enhanced high-temperature strength. It provides good resistance against intergranular corrosion, even during welding, and retains mechanical properties at high temperatures. The alloy possesses a standard tensile strength of 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%, along with Brinell hardness in the range of 160 to 220 HB. These characteristics render SS 348H suitable for application in thermal cycling and high-pressure conditions.
