WP11 Alloy Steel has about 1.25% chromium and 0.5% molybdenum, with the rest being iron and trace amounts of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. This composition provides WP11 with a minimum tensile strength of 205 MPa and tensile strength of between 415 and 585 MPa, with elongation usually more than 20%. The chromium is responsible for improving oxidation and corrosion resistance, whereas molybdenum adds strength and thermal creep resistance. WP11 has mechanical stability when it is subjected to long periods of high-temperature exposure, rendering it very reliable for pressure-bearing systems.
