Nickel Alloy 201 is usually composed of ≥99.6% nickel with ≤0.02% carbon content and is the best to use when service is required above 315°C where Nickel 200 is likely to undergo graphitization. It possesses a tensile strength of ~380 MPa, yield strength of ~103 MPa, and elongation of ~45%, as well as superior thermal and electrical conductivity. The alloy is resistant to corrosion in alkaline, neutral, and reducing environments such as caustic soda, anhydrous ammonia, and high-purity process gases. It does not exhibit magnetism and retains mechanical properties over a broad temperature spectrum.
