Alloy Steel WP9 contains mostly iron, with a content of about 9% chromium and 1% molybdenum, and traces of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur. This alloy provides a tensile strength of about 415–585 MPa, yield strength of at least 205 MPa, and elongation of 20–30%. It is very resistant to creep, thermal fatigue, and oxidation, and it is therefore perfect for long-time exposure to high temperatures. The excellent weldability of the material at high temperatures and its toughness make it suitable for boiler systems and pressure piping.
