The high PREN (>42.5) of the alloy guarantees excellent pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance in seawater and high-chloride industrial environments. SMO 254 is also noted for its exceptional weldability and mechanical stability at high temperature and pressure.
