Stainless Steel 304L Buttweld Fittings consist of chromium (18-20%), nickel (8-12%), and a maximum amount of carbon as 0.03%, while the rest is iron. The lower carbon content reduces the chances of carbide precipitation during welding, improving corrosion resistance, particularly in welded components. SS 304L possesses a tensile strength of around 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of around 40%. It also possesses excellent mechanical properties and ductility under cryogenic conditions. This makes it extremely suitable for use where corrosion resistance and high weldability are a requirement.
